We replace torn or loose mesh in accessible, removable window flyscreens and ordinary non-security screen panels.
Replacing torn or loose flyscreen mesh
If the frame is sound, torn mesh can often be replaced without buying a whole new screen. We remove the damaged mesh and fit suitable replacement mesh and spline to ordinary removable screens.
List the screens by room, with rough sizes and quantities. Tell us if the mesh has holes, has pulled out at the edges or is loose across the frame. Include any preferred mesh type in the request.

Checking the frame and fittings
Bent aluminium, cracked corners and missing clips can affect whether a screen can be repaired. Have a photo of the whole frame and the damaged fitting ready so the repair can be assessed.
The quote identifies the mesh and fittings needed. Finding a replacement clip or repairing a frame is different from a straightforward re-mesh, so mention those problems when you describe the job.
Accessible household screens
This service covers safely accessible ordinary flyscreens. Tell us how the frame is removed, how high the window is and whether access is restricted.
We do not install security screens, certify safety barriers or alter window safety devices. Flyscreen mesh is not fall protection. External apartment screens or common property may need strata permission.
What changes the cost?
Screen count, dimensions, mesh type and frame condition affect the quote. Several sound removable frames are a different job from one bent frame with missing fittings.
Include access details and any parts already supplied. Replacement frames or specialist screen products are not assumed to be included in a re-mesh.
See the handyman cost guide for published hourly rates and task prices, and what to check in your quote.
Our service covers minor, non-structural work. Residential building jobs are limited to $5,000 in total, including labour, materials and GST. Electrical, plumbing, gas and other specialist trades are outside this service. The limit applies to the whole job; work cannot be split into smaller invoices to avoid licensing. NSW licensing rules.
What to have ready
- Number of screens and rough width and height
- Photos of damaged mesh, frames or clips, kept ready
- How the screens are removed and the window height
- Preferred mesh and any strata or access restrictions
Have close-up photos and a wider view ready. Describe the job in the form; photographs cannot be uploaded here.
For a rented home, report repairs to the landlord or agent first. Alterations are different from repairing existing damage and may need specific written permission. See the NSW rental repairs guide before making a booking on someone else’s behalf.
Flyscreen repairs questions
Do I need a new frame if the mesh is torn?
Not necessarily. A sound frame may be suitable for re-meshing. Bent frames, broken corners and damaged fittings need assessment before a repair is agreed.
Can you repair several window flyscreens?
Yes. List them by room with quantities and rough dimensions. Mention any different mesh types or damaged fittings.
Do you install security screen doors?
No. This service is for ordinary accessible flyscreens and non-security screen panels, not security installations or safety certification.
How much will the job cost?
The quote depends on the items, condition, parts and access. We agree the work and price before starting. The cost guide gives third-party benchmarks; those are not our rates.
Can I include other small repairs?
Yes. List each job and the number of items in one request, including any parts supplied. The full job must stay within our minor repair service and NSW licensing limits.
Which suburbs do you cover?
Bankstown and nearby suburbs, including Bankstown Aerodrome, Condell Park, Yagoona, Bass Hill, Georges Hall, Chester Hill, Sefton, Birrong, Potts Hill, Greenacre, Punchbowl, Mount Lewis, Revesby, Padstow, Milperra. Include your suburb in the request so the location and access can be checked.
