We patch small holes and dents in dry interior plaster walls, with sanding and painting agreed before work starts.
Small holes, dents and damaged patches
We repair minor damage such as old screw holes, shallow dents and small broken patches in dry plaster walls. Describe where the damage is and how large it is; have a close photo with a ruler and a wider photo ready.
The repair method depends on the hole, the wall material and the surrounding surface. Large areas needing replacement, damaged framing and ceiling repairs are outside this small wall-patching service.

Sanding and paint touch-ups
Tell us whether you want the patch left ready for painting or want a paint touch-up included. Filling, drying, sanding and painting are separate stages, so some repairs may need more than one visit.
If you have the original paint, note the colour and sheen. Older paint can be difficult to match, and a neat patch may still show. We agree the finishing work before quoting rather than assume that every patch includes repainting.
When patching is not the right repair
A damp patch or crack that keeps growing needs assessment of its cause before it is covered. We do not repair leaks, structural damage or waterproofing.
Tell us about older or unknown wall linings before any sanding or drilling. Suspected asbestos must not be disturbed. Fire-rated walls and common property also need the appropriate assessment and permission.
What changes the cost?
The size and number of patches, wall condition and finish affect the price. Include whether sanding, paint supply and painting are required.
Drying time or a second visit can change the work involved. We confirm these stages with you before work starts.
See the handyman cost guide for published hourly rates and task prices, and what to check in your quote.
Our service covers minor, non-structural work. Residential building jobs are limited to $5,000 in total, including labour, materials and GST. Electrical, plumbing, gas and other specialist trades are outside this service. The limit applies to the whole job; work cannot be split into smaller invoices to avoid licensing. NSW licensing rules.
What to have ready
- Number and approximate size of the holes or dents
- Whether the wall is dry and the damage is growing
- Whether you want a paint-ready patch or painting included
- Paint details and any concerns about older wall material
Have close-up photos and a wider view ready. Describe the job in the form; photographs cannot be uploaded here.
For a rented home, report repairs to the landlord or agent first. Alterations are different from repairing existing damage and may need specific written permission. See the NSW rental repairs guide before making a booking on someone else’s behalf.
Small plaster repairs questions
Is painting included in a wall repair?
Only when it is listed in the quote. Tell us whether you want the patch prepared for painting or a paint touch-up included.
Can the repair be finished in one visit?
That depends on the repair and drying time. Filling, sanding and painting can need separate stages; the proposed work should explain any return visit.
Can you patch a damp wall or a spreading crack?
The cause needs assessment first. We do not cover unresolved leaks, building movement or structural damage with cosmetic filler.
How much will the job cost?
The quote depends on the items, condition, parts and access. We agree the work and price before starting. The cost guide gives third-party benchmarks; those are not our rates.
Can I include other small repairs?
Yes. List each job and the number of items in one request, including any parts supplied. The full job must stay within our minor repair service and NSW licensing limits.
Which suburbs do you cover?
Bankstown and nearby suburbs, including Bankstown Aerodrome, Condell Park, Yagoona, Bass Hill, Georges Hall, Chester Hill, Sefton, Birrong, Potts Hill, Greenacre, Punchbowl, Mount Lewis, Revesby, Padstow, Milperra. Include your suburb in the request so the location and access can be checked.
