Internal doors that stick or scrape
We check the hinges, latch and gap around the door to find out why it catches. A loose hinge may need tightening; a door that rubs after new flooring may need a small clearance adjustment.
Tell us whether the door scrapes the floor, catches the frame or will not latch. Mention when it started and whether the problem changes after wet weather. This helps distinguish an adjustment from damaged timber or movement in the building.
Cupboard doors, hinges and drawer runners
We adjust uneven cupboard doors and repair ordinary cabinet hardware. That can mean replacing a broken hinge, tightening a handle or fitting a compatible drawer runner.
List how many doors or drawers need attention. Have a photo of the hinge or runner ready, and tell us if you have replacement parts. Matching an old fitting can take more work than adjusting a sound one.
What the repair includes
Before work starts, we agree which doors and fittings will be repaired, which parts need replacing and who will supply them. Paint touch-ups or other finishing are included only when they are listed in the quote.
This service is for ordinary internal doors and dry cupboard hardware. Fire-rated doors, security systems, structural openings and kitchen renovations are excluded. If a leak or building movement has damaged a door, the cause needs assessment first.
What changes the cost?
The number of doors, condition of the timber and type of hardware affect the price. Include replacement-part details in your request; a discontinued hinge may need a compatible alternative.
We confirm the work and price before starting. Ask for any parts, call-out charge and finishing to be shown in the quote.

Our service covers minor, non-structural work. Residential building jobs are limited to $5,000 in total, including labour, materials and GST. Electrical, plumbing, gas and other specialist trades are outside this service. The limit applies to the whole job; work cannot be split into smaller invoices to avoid licensing. NSW licensing rules.

Can you fix a door that scrapes the floor?
We assess ordinary internal doors for loose hinges and insufficient clearance. An adjustment may help, but damaged frames or building movement need a different assessment.
Do I need to buy replacement hinges first?
You can tell us what you have, but do not guess at a replacement. The hinge size and type need to match the door or cupboard. Have a close photo of the existing fitting ready.
Can you repair an apartment entry fire door?
Fire-rated door alterations are excluded. Tell us if the door is fire-rated or part of common property so it is not mistaken for an ordinary internal door.
How much will the job cost?
The quote depends on the items, condition, parts and access. We agree the work and price before starting. The cost guide gives third-party benchmarks; those are not our rates.
Can I include other small repairs?
Yes. List each job and the number of items in one request, including any parts supplied. The full job must stay within our minor repair service and NSW licensing limits.
